October, 15, 22, 29 & November 5, 12 | 10 – 11:30 am

Virtual Free Information Session
October 8 | 10 – 11:30 am

For the first time, the Boulder JCC will offer a Wise Aging discussion group based on the book, “Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit” by Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Dr. Linda Thal. This virtual five-session, groundbreaking program is specifically designed to meet the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of anyone who identifies as a Jewish woman in their 60s and beyond!

Wise Aging groups have been meeting in synagogues and JCCs around the country since the book was published in 2015. Now, Boulder’s senior women will get a chance to connect and explore their thoughts and experience around aging.

In this group, participants will be gently guided through reflective work to bring new understandings and perspectives to their lives, values, and Jewish practices. To fully embrace this focused introspection on the aging process, the group will engage in guided conversation, text study, active listening, meditation and meditative movement, exercises, reflection, and journaling.

Over the course of the six weeks, participants will experience and acquire skills for making changes that lead to a deeper sense of wellbeing. Some of the areas that may be addressed include perceptions and stereotypes around aging, living with loss and change, cultivating relationships, retirement, death, and creating a legacy.
