2020 Boulder Jewish Festival Officially Cancelled

The 2020 Boulder Jewish Festival joins a long line of iconic public events that have been felled by the Covid-19/Coronavirus Pandemic.

The Boulder JCC, in charge of organizing the Festival since absorbing Menorah several years ago, initially announced that the 2020 Festival would not occur on its scheduled date on June 14, but that it might be held in August, 2020 should conditions allow.

However, this week the decision was made to officially pull the plug on the 2020 event, “after much deliberation, following the latest best practices and looking to other organizations planning similar events,” said Jodi Zicklin, ACE Program Coordinator at the Boulder JCC.

“While this festival is cherished by our community, and many might be disappointed that this too is cancelled, holding the safety of our community is of utmost importance.  We hope that you will all support this decision and look forward to hearing your thoughts.”

Zicklin also said that the JCC is looking at some ideas for a virtual “Shalom Boulder,” the JCC’s Boulder Newcomers’ Program, to give those Newish and Jewish the opportunity to connect to Boulder Jewish community organizations before the fall holiday season. They are also working on the date for the 2021 Boulder Jewish Festival.
