Oy Vey, I Have Chronic Pain

In fall 2017 Laurie Polisky started making a film about chronic pain, following a massive neuroimaging study at CU Boulder that was seeking to better understand what chronic pain is and how to treat it effectively.

One of the main characters is PhD candidate Yoni Ashar, who finds immense fulfillment in his Jewish tradition. We captured his annual trip to Israel, and his understandings of science and religion are explored in the film.

Pain Brain is hosting an event for the public at the Denver JCC next Wednesday, May 15th from 7:00 – 8:30 pm. Yoni will be speaking about the science and about a new perspective on pain that can help many that are suffering. The event will also serve to garner support for film production in progress.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
