OneTable Named a “2019 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits

November 6, 2019 – OneTable announced today it has been named a “2019 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews of charities and nonprofits.

OneTable empowers young adults to find and host Friday night Shabbat dinners across the country, resulting in over 120,000 people in their 20s and 30s building Jewish community.

“It feels really meaningful to be named a Top-Rated Nonprofit because the ratings came from the people who make OneTable happen every single week – our hosts and guests. This year has been one of incredible growth for us, in every way imaginable. We’re bringing more Shabbat to more cities, our team is expanding, we’re digging into how people connect with ritual, and we’re connecting with supporters who know the value of building community.”

— Rabbi Jessica Minnen, Director of Jewish Learning at OneTable

The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews that OneTable received from Shabbat hosts and guests, like this one from Julianne N:

“OneTable has transformed my Shabbat experience. As a young professional, I unfortunately find myself skipping Shabbat dinners and feeling both lonely and disengaged with Judaism. OneTable has allowed me to develop my Jewish experience as an adult, to share my customs, and to learn from others. I’ve made a few friends already…and I’m learning more and more about how I will eventually want to raise my kids as I develop a sustained Jewish practice. As someone new to [my city], OneTable has given me a community and empowered me as a host and leader. It’s invaluable and hands down the best part of what has been a great year.”

“OneTable is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with OneTable.”

The GreatNonprofits Top-Rated Awards are the only awards for nonprofits determined by those who have direct experience with the charities – as donors, volunteers and recipients of aid.
