The Office of the Prosecutor has declined, for the third time, to open an investigation into the 2010 Gaza Flotilla. Anti-Israel activists have clamored for an investigation into “war crimes” by members of the Israel Defense Forces, who defended themselves after they were violently attacked by armed assailants posing as humanitarian volunteers.
The Lawfare Project, a legal think tank and international human rights NGO, has long been involved in this case. In partnership with the U.K. law firm 9 Bedford Row, they submitted communications to the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court related to this matter. “We’re extremely pleased the Prosecutor agreed with our analysis and reaffirmed her decision. It’s refreshing to see an international institution doing the right thing and standing up for law and justice rather than bowing to anti-Israel political pressure.”
— Brooke Goldstein, Executive Director of The Lawfare Project
