While summer may be winding down, Milk and Honey Farm at the Boulder JCC is just getting started. After a summer of planting and harvesting, Farmer Becca and Farmer Molly can’t wait to get the community together and share the bounty! Returning this fall are two beloved series — Create and Cultivate and Boulder Chefs Series.
Create and Cultivate is a series of hands-on, do-it-yourself, crafting, cooking, and gardening workshops with a Milk and Honey Farm twist. Boulder Chefs Series gives the community the opportunity to cook alongside their favorite Boulder chefs — think Hosea Rosenberg, Top Chef season 5 winner.
Here’s a highlight of this fall’s events:
Have you ever made your own challah cover? Using natural dyes? On September 10, you’ll have the opportunity to do just that using flowers grown at Milk and Honey Farm. Farmer Becca and Lisa Ray will teach you the technique, then you’ll create a unique design and press whole flowers into your fabric. We’ll provide the fabric, history of natural dyeing and how it relates to Jewish history, and you bring the creativity!
