Boulder Goes to Israel in 2020

The Boulder JCC, Congregation Bonai Shalom, Congregation Har HaShem, and Adventure Judaism have partnered to organize Boulder’s community-wide trip to Israel. The 12-day trip across diverse cities and landscapes of Israel will provide meaningful experiences and educational content to adults and families. Organized to accommodate two different tracks, one for adults and one for families, this accessible and inclusive trip is positioned to be a great community-creating experience, with deeply impactful experiences for the individual and the group as a whole.

Taking off on May 31, 2020, the group will travel to Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Ramat HaNegev, Jerusalem, the Sea of Galilee, Tsfat, and Caesarea. Some of Israel’s most historic and beautiful sites, participants will experience the bustling city of Tel Aviv and Shabbat in Jerusalem. In between, the group will learn about Boulder’s sister city, Ramat HaNegev, shop at a local shuk or market, and visit an archaeological site. Additional opportunities are available for those celebrating lifecycle events, such as a bar or bat mitzvah, vow renewal, wedding, or choosing a Hebrew name.

The trip organizers are scheduling a number of informational sessions for community members to learn about the trip from each organizer’s clergy and staff. Sessions will include information about the hotels, adult programming, and special programming for kids by age. Sessions are scheduled to coincide with early bird registration. Registration will open on September 10, and community members that register between September 10 and October 10 will receive early bird registration rates, a land-only discount of $150. Land and air pricing, as well as land-only pricing, is available, with add-ons for optional insurance and single supplements. Land and air includes round-trip transportation from Denver to Tel Aviv through Newark on the group flight.
