Alon Ben-Gurion to Headline JNF Annual Breakfast for Israel

On Israel’s Independence Day, Thursday, May 9, 2019, Jewish National Fund (JNF-USA) will host its annual Mountain States Breakfast for Israel in Denver, CO. Chaired by Lisa Wolf Perlmutter, Rabbi Steven Foster, and Yaron Marcus, the event will feature guest speaker Alon Ben-Gurion, grandson of Israel’s first prime minister, who is known to captivate audiences by sharing personal stories about his grandfather, David Ben-Gurion, and his legacy for Israel. Colorado Governor Jared Polis will also be in attendance and will give remarks. This complimentary event will take place at Wings Over the Rockies (7711 E Academy Blvd., Denver, CO), with registration at 7:00 am and the program beginning promptly at 7:45 am.

“I am looking forward to the privilege of sharing unheard stories about my grandfather, David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister and founding father,” said Alon Ben-Gurion. “These are personal stories about the family that no one has heard.”

Acclaimed international hospitality consultant, Alon Ben-Gurion has managed the revenue and operations of hotels around the world, including as the general manager of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York. He is using his extensive network and hospitality know-how to actively promote development in the Negev, working to make the region bloom and realize his grandfather’s dream. Mr. Ben-Gurion serves on the advisory board of Heroes to Heroes which provides spiritual healing, suicide prevention, and peer support programs for U.S. veterans. During the Yom Kippur War, he saw battle and survived injuries sustained as a paratrooper in the Israel Defense Forces.

Attendees of the breakfast will also hear from Jewish National Fund’s National President Dr. Sol Lizerbram and about the tremendous work being done by the organization on the ground daily in Israel, as well as the vision he has for the future. JNF provides a unique voice in building a prosperous and secure future for the land and people of Israel. JNF strives to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s citizens and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is “greening” the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks across Israel, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid agriculture techniques, ensuring that no citizen is left behind by making parks and public spaces inclusive for people with disabilities and special needs, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.
