Yud Hey, Vav Hey, leads us to the meaning of Her,
down a twisting alley of black print prayers,
She’s a lantern of the Inn of Her.
With every bow and step, with every sway,
we come closer, Yud Hey, Vav Hey, pray
for another moment to be near the divine.
Our breathing marches on like soldiers on the front lines;
The seconds become crisp and clear,
life and death seem quite near,
as She draws us out with the salve of Her.
Oseh shalom bi-m’romav, hu ya’ aseh shalom…
May peace be with us though we fall short,
…L’olam va’ed…, in a world that’s forever Hers.
God! Save us from the split waters!
Save us from the sea of life that drags us down!
She lifts us up on eagle’s wings!
Hear the Chazzan, for us, he sings.
Holy, holy, holy is Her presence!
Holy, holy is Her essence!
She’s in the very air that we breathe.
God’s in the cauliflower clouds that climb
the high rise skies, draws our eyes up to Her.
She rages on, in an electric storm, for us to be
against all that’s not She.
She waits to rise as the sun dawns in the East.
Let our speech be free of fault, let us be her beast
of burden and atone for all mankind!
Let us pray for the ones left behind!
May our houses be adorned with the slant of mezuzahs,
to remind us of Her as we enter and be centered.
May we dress with fringes and rows of knots,
to remember Her as we cast our lots!
Throw off our coats of egos and fall awake!
She’s there for us, make no mistake.
Barukh k’vod Adonai Mi-m-komo!
Praised is the glory of God throughout the universe!
She loves us, and makes us strong,
so we may turn the other cheek.
To love Her is to know Her, is what we seek
through all Her seasons with only one reason,
to be complete. So pray, little angels, pray,
in a sea of souls cast upon the churning waves.
The rushing tides wrenches our lives,
still, we cleave, our hands outstretched,
to be saved by Her!
And She is one with us, and we embrace
in the ethereal, just once more for real.
She’s amidst the split waters!
Sing a song for our sons and daughters,
though they may be far as the Northern Star!
Y’hei sh’mei raba m’varakh l’alam u-lalmei almaya!
May She be praised throughout all space and time!
May we be souls with Her entwined!
