Weekly Edition: November 30th, 2018

Shabbat shalom, and Chanukah Sameach – Happy Chanukah! The festival of lights begins Sunday night, and there are events aplenty this week to celebrate.  Giant Menorahs will be lit in public in Boulder (Night 2, Monday night, with our Jewish Govenor-elect, Jared Polis), Louisville (Chanukah on Ice on Night 5, Thursday night) and Lafayette (Night 8, second Sunday night) during the week, and for young adults (but over 21, please) there is Ignite Chanukah 9 on Wednesday night.   Bookmark our Chanukah page for all the latest news.

Also, BJN receives a LOT of books! If you’re looking for gift ideas, here are a few titles that have crossed our desk recently: “The Tattoist of Auschwitz“, “Six Thousand Miles From Home“, “The Jewish American Paradox“, Sara Berman’s Closet“, “We Are Going To Be Lucky: A World War II Love Story in Letters” and “The Modern Jewish Baker“.

Meanwhile, stay warm, and here are this week’s posts:

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
