BOULDER – The Boulder Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s has become one of the largest in the state in just three years, trailing only the Denver and Colorado Springs walks. The fourth annual Boulder Walk to End Alzheimer’s is expected to easily top the 1,000 people it drew last year including Alzheimer’s caregivers, persons with the disease, family members and supporters.
“Alzheimer’s disease affects too many people to be ignored,” Catie Davis, Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado development coordinator for the Greater Boulder area. “We have 71,000 Coloradans living with the disease, and a quarter of a million more volunteer caregivers – family and friends. Until we can find a cure, we must focus our energy and resources on caring for those who are dealing with this devastating disease.”
