Colorado Hebrew Chorale Celebrates Leonard Bernstein at 100

The Colorado Hebrew Chorale presents its annual Summer Sight-Singing Romp, where participants are the choir, on Monday, June 25, 2019, 7:00 pm at the Hebrew Educational Alliance, 3600 S. Ivanhoe Street in Denver. The Chorale will celebrate the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein with selections from his own iconic repertoire as well as compositions which influenced him such as the synagogue masterpiece Halleluyaw, written by the German-Jewish composer Louis Lewandowski (1821-1894).

A highlight of the evening will be a read-through of Bernstein’s Hebrew Chichester Psalms featuring local soloists and conductors. Singing will begin at 7:30 pm following a lecture by Dr. Seth Ward entitled: LB at 100: Chichester Psalms and Bernstein’s Jewish Music Legacy.
