Colorado Experiences Uptick In White Supremacist Propaganda

Denver, CO, August 24, 2018 … The Anti-Defamation League’s Center on Extremism continues to track a growing number of white supremacist propaganda efforts in Colorado, including a recent series of incidents reported in today’s Denver Post. ADL has tracked 36 white supremacist propaganda incidents in Colorado so far this year, including distributions on eight college campuses.

In response to the recent increase, ADL Mountain States Regional Director Scott L. Levin said:

It is important to pay close attention to extremist-related activities in our state and to stand up and unequivocally state that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. ADL is committed to exposing the efforts of extremists and fighting to stop the hate they aim to spread. We call upon our elected officials, community leaders and law enforcement agencies to join us in declaring that there is no place for hate in Colorado.

Identity Evropa, a group focused on the preservation of “white American culture” and the promotion of white European identity, is responsible for the majority of incidents in Colorado. More information on the group can be found here:  https://www.adl.org/resources/profiles/identity-evropa

ADL recently launched the ADL H.E.A.T. (Hate, Extremism, Anti-Semitism, Terrorism) Map ™ — a first-of-a-kind interactive map detailing extremist and anti-Semitic incidents in the U.S., including specific incidents in Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming.
