DENVER, Colo. – The Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) is hosting several events in August and September for kids, families, adults and older adults. Events include first Thursday dance parties, poolside playdates and a summer pool party, the Shakespeare play As You Like It and the third annual Denver Jewish Golf Tournament.
Event details and dates are as follows:
First Thursday Dance Party – Thursday, August 2 and Thursday, September 6 from 6:30-7:45 p.m. On the first Thursday of every month, the JCC offers a 75 minute Zumba and hip-hop class with three different instructors who teach for 25 minutes each. After the class, attendees can enjoy wine, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks in the main lobby. Men, women and kids ages 15-years and older are welcome. Wolf Theatre Academy’s Shakespeare Play “As You Like It” – August 1-5 at varying times Young artists of the Wolf Theatre Academy in grades 6-12 put on Shakespeare’s As You Like It on the main stage at the Mizel Arts & Culture Center. Poolside Playdates – Friday, August 3 and Friday, August 10 from 10-11:30 a.m. Kids ages six months to three years old and their parents or caregivers are invited to join the JCC Denver at the outdoor baby pool for Friday morning play dates. Snacks, bubbles, chalk and pool time all included. $7 per child or free for JCC Denver Fitness & Wellness members. Reservations are required and space is limited. August Pool Party – Sunday, August 5 from 12-3 p.m. Join the JCC Denver for the last pool party of summer, a pirate pool party at the outdoor pool. Bring your bathing suit, sunscreen and towel. Denver Jewish Golf Tournament – Monday, August 20 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The third annual Denver Jewish Golf Tournament is an 18-hole tournament which includes breakfast, lunch, contests and prizes. The event also includes lessons and a Par-3 course for community members who would like to learn how to golf. The tournament is at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. The tournament is $150 per player; lessons are $50 per player. The event is sponsored by the Staenberg – Loup Jewish Community Center, B’nai Birith and the Denver Jewish Chamber of Commerce.
