Deep in the heart of God’s sanctuary, there in the Holy of Holies, stood two golden idols.

This was not some act of desecration by conquering powers, nor the secret plot of heretical priests. These statues were very officially installed in the Tabernacle, right on top of the ark, by God’s own command.
