Musical Kabbalat Shabbat Friday Night

With songs and psalms galore, Friday night at Congregation Bonai Shalom, a musical Kabbalat Shabbat service will bring joy to your ears. Community musicians will join Rabbi Marc in leading a fun Kabbalat Shabbat service with all sorts of instruments. Followed by a melodious a capella Maariv (evening) service. The music begins at 6 pm.

When the singing is done, bring in Shabbat by sharing a Shabbat dinner. A potluck dinner at that. Bonai Shalom will provide homemade challah, grape juice and some compostable dinnerware and utensils. You’re welcome to bring your own food (vegetarian, nut-free and labeled if possible), drink and plates. Please join us for a night of song and friends.

Correct Sin-Tax

Teshuva is the Jewish way to pay our ‘sin taxes.’ Aveira is one of the Hebrew words for transgression. In my mind, it resonates with the English word, ‘over.’
