Haver Presents Yom Hashoah Event at Har HaShem Sunday

Haver, Boulder’s Rabbinic Council, presents Boulder’s community Yom Hashoah v’Hagevurah: Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust and the Heroism program this Sunday, April 23rd, at Congregation Har HaShem.  The evening begins at 5:15 pm with a program for middle school students and dinner.  Dinner is $5.00 per person, and registration is required by contacting Lynn at Har HaShem.

The Service of Commemoration for the whole community begins at 6:30 pm, and will feature Arnold Fridland, a Shoah Survivor, as guest speaker.  Arnold was sent away by his paretns at the age of 6 to be hidden by a non-Jewish couple in Belgium.  The family kept in touch with his partents until they were sent to Auschwitz, where they later died.  Arnold was moved to an orphanage by his uncle after the war, evenutally immigrating to Israel and then Canada to join his grandmother.
