Har HaShem Offering Introduction to Jewish Meditation

Congregation Har HaShem will be hosting a workshop on the basics of Jewish meditation, open to the community. The workshop will begin with a presentation exploring and addressing:

  1. Why is meditation helpful?
  2. What is Jewish meditation? What is Jewish about meditation?
  3. How do I meditate?

Meditation instruction will be offered and participants will practice different meditations. Participants will leave with resources to take home. This workshop is open to experienced and beginning meditators. Registration is required because space is limited.

Led by Rabbi Ruth Gelfarb who has studied at Nepal’s Pokhara Buddhist Meditation Center and is currently enrolled in the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s intensive two-year Jewish mindfulness teacher training under the tutelage of Rabbis Sheila Weinberg and Joel Roth.

Co-led by Jeff Tatelman, a 19 year Har HaShem member, who is an alumni of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Tikkun Middot Project, and a mindfulness practitioner.
