Har HaShem Campers Deliver Challahs to JFS Clients

For the past twelve years, a tradition of every Friday camp day at Keitanat Har Hashem is challah baking.  This year, our campers began what we hope to be a new ritual, adding more kavanah (intention), and for sure, a wonderful opportunity for our campers and families to share in a  beautiful “get ready for Shabbat” mitzvah.  Partnering with Jewish Family Service this summer,  camp received a weekly list of JFS clients in the community that could benefit from a fresh baked challah, delivered with love from a camper and family.

Jodi Ansell, Care Manager of Jewish Family Service says: “The clients were very appreciative and thought the kids were adorable. They were so excited and felt special that they got a home baked challah delivered!”

As much as the clients expressed their appreciation, our campers and families experienced the joy and delight of moving into Shabbat with extra connection and delight.  We look forward to continuing this lovely relationship with JFS and the community next summer, and beyond.
