Stuart A. Velick, 78, of Boulder, Colorado passed away November 22, 2017.
Stuart was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He retired from the State of Michigan after a 30-year career. During retirement he also lived in Scottsdale before settling in Colorado to be closer to family. Stuart enjoyed travel, particularly to warm climates, architecture, house-hunting and photography.
For nearly two decades, Stuart was in treatment for multiple myeloma. During the past ten years, his personal assistant, Kelly Wilson, was one of the few people close to Stuart. She was a caring and trusted friend, especially during his recent rapid decline in health.
He is survived by his brother, Leonard (Nancie) Velick of Boulder, Colorado, nieces and nephews Cheryl (David) Fellows, Doug (Lisa) Velick and Lisa (David) Mittleman, and 8 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Interment is Sunday, November 26, at Clover Hill Park Cemetery, Royal Oak, Michigan. The family will observe shiva on Monday night, November 27, at the home of David and Cheryl Fellows, 5345 Holmes Place, Boulder, Colorado.
