Balfour Senior Living and Stratos Present Cannabis 101 Sessions

Stratos, Balfour Senior Living and Holos Health Partner in an Educational Series to Improve Health and Wellness Among Seniors

DENVER  – Stratos, creators of a pharmaceutical-grade cannabis tablet product line, is facilitating a Cannabis 101 series at Balfour Senior Living communities throughout the Colorado Front Range. The free 45-minute presentations are open to Balfour residents and the public and will be led by two of the top physician medical cannabis experts in the country from Holos Health. The presentations will discuss cannabis health and wellness applications for common senior ailments and provide information about methods of consumption and available products.

Cannabis use among seniors, particularly seniors over 65, has skyrocketed according to a national survey with 47,140 respondents. Findings show that cannabis use has increased 57.8 percent for adults ages 50-64 and 250 percent among adults over age 65.

“We’re excited to help the senior community learn about cannabis and how it may aid them with a range of medical ailments and to ease the pains of aging,” said Bradley Orr, CEO of Stratos. “We’re looking forward to educating this group on the various new types of cannabis delivery methods, as the industry has evolved drastically in the last few years. Balfour is an ideal senior living community to partner with because they are very forward thinking and consistently providing their residents with opportunities to improve their quality of life.”

The Balfour communities, with locations in Denver, Louisville, Littleton, and Stapleton, place a specific focus on resident education for optimal health management.  Cannabis is an important, albeit new to many, component of this optimal health management equation.

Dr. Joseph Cohen

Dr. Joseph Cohen and Dr. Sarah Berke with Holos Health—a holistic health organization with offices in Denver and Boulder specializing in medical marijuana evaluations—will be joining the sessions to provide a medical perspective on how cannabis can effectively treat the unique needs of the aging population. They will lead a Q&A following each of the sessions.

“The Balfour communities are thrilled to have Stratos, and Holos Health present such a timely and useful topic like cannabis to our residents,” said Lindsay Mitchell, Director of Corporate Communications. “Many of our residents and their family members are interested in how cannabis can help with pain management, macular degeneration, chronic fatigue, depression, arthritis, sleep disorders and more. Stratos’ tablets are a great way for our residents to safely use cannabis and find the right dosing. These sessions will be a great opportunity for our residents and their caregivers to gather the necessary information about cannabis and determine whether it’s right for their current health regimen.”

About Stratos

Stratos is a comprehensive line of pharmaceutical-grade cannabis products that consistently provide users with specific desired effects. Through a discrete and dose-accurate tablet delivery method, the company is changing the way people consume cannabis-infused products. Stratos uses FDA guidelines for accuracy, reproducibility, and cleanliness, resulting in a pharmaceutical-grade product. On average Stratos’ products test within 2 percent of dose reproducibility, going far beyond the state industry requirement of +/- 20 percent. With a combined 80 years of pharmaceutical knowledge and business experience, Stratos founders were previously formulating, developing and validating highly scheduled, DEA and FDA regulated medications. In 2014, they decided to translate that experience into the cannabis space and created a line of pharmaceutical-grade THC, and CBD infused tablets that consumers could rely on for the same accuracy and reproducibility as many over the counter and prescription drugs (opioids, sleep aids, stimulants, etc.).
