Learn All About the Holidays

Learn All About the Holidays

Have you ever wanted to learn how to braid a round Challah for Rosh Hashanah?

Are you curious to know why some people celebrate Passover for seven days, while others continue to eat matzoh for an eighth day?

Also, what does Tisha B’Av actually commemorate?

Many of the traditions and stories we hold dear for the holidays become shrouded in mystery when we actually try to understand them or their origins. Luckily, Adventure Rabbi is here to help with the All About Holidays Class! The class is designed to supplement other learning your family might be exploring, while also being sensitive to those who attend Shabbat morning services, so we hold our classes the Saturday afternoon prior to all Jewish holidays. It’s the perfect way to spend a relaxing Shabbat, you make great friends in the class, and learn some fun facts and new skills along the way!

Taught by Adventure Educator, Elaine Barenblat, this class is for both parents and students 3rd grade and up, and is an engaging mixture of stories, conversations, texts, crafts, and critical thinking. Families are able to communicate on a different level, attend a group class together, come away with a different or deeper understanding of Jewish holidays, and are given the tools to create a fun at-home experience.

If you’re interested in experiencing all of the Jewish holidays 5777 will bring us in a different and fun way that allows you to dive deep into history, culture, and firsthand experiences, you can read more about it and see our schedule of classes on our website here: http://www.adventurerabbi.org/congregation/ReligiousSchool_Family_Jewish_Learning_Holidays.htm
