CU-Boulder Hillel was selected to initiate a prestigious, cutting edge Israel learning program this year. Resetting the Table, a national initiative of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, builds the capacity of American Jews to talk, study, and deliberate together on Israel across differences in background and views.

“We’re so excited and honored to be one of only seven campuses nationally who will implement this important program,” says Hanan Nayberg, CU-Boulder Hillel campus director. “This is a great opportunity to bring students back to the Israel table, and to re-engage those who feel talking about Israel will do nothing more than label them as radical left or radical right.”

Resetting the Table has no positional agenda. Rather, it seeks to encourage constructive and direct conversation on some of the most important and fraught issues facing the Jewish people. This program will strengthen and complement CU-Boulder Hillel’s current extensive Israel programming.

Through the work of Hillel’s Israel IACT Specialist on campus, Lindsay Migdal, CU-Boulder Hillel sent more than 150 CU students to Israel on Taglit Birthright-Israel last year.

“We want to make sure their Israel journey is just beginning when they come back to CU, and Resetting the Table will help us to provide anyone with a passion for Israel the tools to express it,” explains Hanan.
