The Colorado Hebrew Chorale is presenting a Workshop and “Informance” (informal performance) featuring area singers and Linda Hirshhorn on Sunday, September 11, 2016 1:00 pm – 3:15 pm at Shalom Cares, 14800 East Belleview Drive in Aurora. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are required.
Linda Hirshhorn is a vivacious and energetic singer and songwriter who has been singing since she was nine and writing music since she was a teenager. She’s been at the forefront of the Jewish music scene for decades, and founded an ensemble, Vocolot, Hirschhorn writes songs in Hebrew and Yiddish and English, adaptations of liturgy and poetry, folk songs and protest songs. The Colorado Hebrew Chorale is honored to present this opportunity for the greater community to learn from her music and style.
The Colorado Hebrew Chorale was founded in September 1993 by Music Director Carol Kozak Ward to preserve, promote and celebrate the Jewish experience through song, by performing with and for diverse audiences. Since its inception, the Chorale has been steadfast in its commitment to outreach, education and Jewish communal involvement. Throughout its history, performances by the Colorado Hebrew Chorale have enhanced the cultural landscape of the greater metro area. The Chorale is open to qualified SATB singers. Rehearsals for the 2016-2017 season begin on Monday, Aug. 22, 7:30 pm at the Hebrew Educational Alliance, 3600 S. Ivanhoe St., Denver, 80237.
