Challah for Hunger Happens at Hillel

Challah for Hunger is a national organization that holds regular challah bakes and donates the profits to various charities. On Thursday nights, Hillel hosts Challah for Hunger challah bakes. These challah bakes provide a great opportunity for CU students to connect with each other and their Jewish community on campus. People arrive about 7:00 pm to roll out and braid the challahs. Each month there is a new theme, or flavor of the month. For this something extra will be added to the challahs, such as cinnamon and sugar this month, in addition to the plain breads.

While the bread bakes, people hang out and play cards or other games, or just sit around chatting with their friends. Most of the challahs are then sold for charity money, except for a few, which are kept and used the following night for Shabbat dinner at Hillel.  If you are a Jewish Buff, come by this Thursday!
