Boulder Jewish Family Service (JFS) will host its fourth annual fundraiser, “Reel Hope Boulder” on Sunday, November 6 at 6:00 p.m. (sponsor reception at 5:30 p.m.) at the new Boulder JCC, 6007 Oreg Avenue in Boulder. Guests will enjoy a fun, enlightening evening with award-winning screenwriter Nicole Perlman, who is recognized for co-writing the 2014 blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which won both the Nebula Award and the Hugo Award. Ron Bostwick, a freelance event producer and announcer, will interview Perlman to showcase behind-the-scenes insights into the world of writing for film. Bostwick has interviewed numerous celebrities at the Boulder International Film Festival, as well as featured speakers at the past three Reel Hope Boulder events.
Guests will enjoy a pre-program wine and hors d’oeuvres reception. Sponsorships starting at $540 are available now and include a sponsor reception with Nicole Perlman. Tickets are $90 and go on sale September 29. All proceeds benefit Boulder JFS.

About Nicole Perlman
Nicole Perlman graduated NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2003 with a double major in Dramatic Writing and Film Production. Since then, she has gone on to win the Tribeca Film Festival’s Sloan Grant for Science in Film for her screenplay, Challenger, which also placed on the prestigious Hollywood Black List in 2006.
She has been named one of Variety Magazine’s Top Ten Writers to Watch, as well as The Playlist’s On the Rise: 10 Screenwriters to Watch in 2013. Perlman has written for Fox 2000, Universal Studios, National Geographic Films, Disney Studios, Cirque Du Soleil Films, Dreamworks, 20th Century Fox, and Marvel Studios. She co-wrote the 2014 blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy, which won both the Nebula Award and the Hugo Award.
She is currently co-writing Captain Marvel for Marvel Studios for a 2019 release. She is also writing a five-issue run of the Gamora comic book series for Marvel, due out in early 2017.
Perlman attended both middle school and high school in Boulder. Her parents, Penny and Michael Perlman, still live here and are active in the community.
