Beth Ami to Host Community Passover Seder

BethAmi_JCCFilmFest2014

Join us for a meaningful Passover Seder and delicious food at our Community Passover Seder on Sunday, April 24th 4:00pm at the Boulder JCC, 3800 Kalmia, Boulder.   Please RSVP to BethAmiRSVP@gmail.com

The theme for our seder is Freedom and Food. Shelly Boucher is our guest presenter. Shelly will talk about Fair Trade foods and who is affected by our food choices. Hazon recently awarded Beth Ami a grant which allowed us to plan a series of educational events to build community and delve deeper into how we celebrate Jewish holidays humanistically.

Our Seder is multigenerational with many activities for children and their families. Our ancestors in ancient Israel liked the Roman symposium and used it as a model for our Passover Seder. A symposium is a gathering of free people who eat and drink together as they tell stories, sing songs, and play games.

Passover is one of the most popular holidays of the Jewish year. Its edible symbols evoke warm memories. Our Humanistic Seder honors the spirit of our ancient foundations and urges us to make freedom a reality for all people everywhere.
