Construction is complete on the Schaeffer Family Center!

After eight months of major renovations to Rohr Chabad House at 909 14th Street, the building is almost ready to host hundreds of Jewish Students at the University of Colorado. The construction crews are moving out and the staff is moving in. The new center includes:

  • An Education Center
  • Synagogue
  • Library
  • Student and Staff Offices
  • A multi-purpose social hall
  • new bathrooms
  • commercial Kosher kitchen
  • a state of the art student lounge
  • and Jewish Homespace

This new building will allow for large social gatherings, holiday meals, Shabbat programing, communal prayer, classes, and apartments for students.

Here is a message from Co-Directors, Rabbi Yisroel and Leah Wilhelm:

It’s been a long journey, one filled with ups and downs. We witnessed what was once a dream come into reality. This process also involved frustrating delays and unexpected expenses. Bottom Line: We’ve used every last penny in the Building Campaign Fund to create a structure that will hold the future of Jewish life at CU. We are now asking for your help.  Please take a look at our Building Registry. It’s everything we need to purchase before our grand opening (March 8th). Please contribute to this vital project.  It’s a perfect and beautiful way to create a lasting legacy. Together, let’s create a place of tremendous Jewish pride.”

Please visit www.JewishCU.com/Registry and www.JewishHomespace.com to see more about our new home.
