Research Projects Looking for Participants

apple health kitEditor: There are two research projects that are looking for participants, that we felt appropriate to share with our readers.

Eating Related Study – University of North Carolina

Have you experienced loss of control eating in the past three months, like once you start eating, it’s difficult to stop?

If so, you are invited to participate in a survey by researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who are conducting a study to learn more about loss of control eating.  Click here to learn more.

For four chances toward a $25 gift card to Amazon.com, please fill out the brief survey, which is anonymous and takes between 7-14 minutes to complete. For more information or to begin the survey, please visit this link.

We encourage you to share this information and survey on your social networking pages (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.), so that we can include as wide a survey as possible.

Share the Journey – Breast Cancer Treatment Study

This study is managed by Sage Bionetworks and was announced during the Apple Watch launch event two weeks ago.

How can we better manage the symptoms after breast cancer treatment together? Sage Bionetworks, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research organization, invites you to volunteer in a new approach to monitor health in women using mobile apps. Share the Journey: Mind, Body and Wellness after breast cancer is a clinical study that aims to understand the symptoms after breast cancer treatment, why these symptoms vary over time, and what can be done to improve them.

This study uses data in the Apple Health App (on iPhones). The study needs control group participants as well, so any woman from 18 to 80 years old may participate, no cancer necessary; you need to be a US citizen and have a personal iPhone in order to participate. Click here to learn more
