DENVER, Colorado – (May 18, 2015) — JEWISHcolorado invites community members to show their support for Israel by joining together in a two-mile walk on Sunday, May 31, to celebrate the country’s independence.

This year, the 2015 Walk for Israel is organized by JEWISHcolorado in collaboration with the Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver). The two organizations have teamed up to offer the entire community the opportunity to demonstrate their pride and support of Israel. The event is free for all participants, and pre-walk registration begins at 9 a.m. The kickoff celebration will take place at 9:30 a.m., and the walk will leave promptly at 10 a.m. from JCC Denver’s parking lot, 350 S Dahlia Street, Denver. A post-walk celebration will follow featuring live music, Israeli games, activities, and festive food.

Participants must register to be eligible to win a free trip to Israel featuring VIP hospitality in Ramat HaNegev, JEWISHcolorado’s partnership region in Israel. The International roundtrip ticket is courtesy of El Al Airlines. Walkers must be present to win.

The 2015 Walk for Israel marks the 67th anniversary of the state of Israel and is co-chaired by Dana Friedman, Sarah Lehrfield, Cindy Noam, and Ronit Williamson this year.

“Colorado always has a strong turnout for this festive occasion—demonstrating our community’s ongoing commitment to Israel,” said Event Co-Chair Dana Friedman. “When our community comes together to walk 1,500 strong the positive energy becomes contagious.”

Event Sponsor and Co-Chair Cindy Noam, stated “We are fortunate to have a community that is involved in important events like the Walk, strengthening Colorado’s connection to Israel and showing our strong support for Israel’s Independence. I encourage everyone to bring their family, friends, and co-workers so we can display our support in record numbers on Sunday, May 31.”

To register, go to JEWISHcolorado.org/WalkForIsrael.8, call 303.316.6484, or email events@jewishcolorado.org.

Participants are encouraged to order their Walk for Israel t-shirts in advance as supply is limited; t-shirts are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. $4 from each 2015 Walk for Israel t-shirt sale will benefit JEWISHcolorado.
