Beth Ami, Colorado Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, defines Judaism as the historical and cultural experience of the Jewish people. Jewish history, like the history of other peoples, is the product of human decisions and actions.
Our Jewish Cultural Family School fosters a positive Jewish identity by planning and implementing mitzvahs in the Denver-Boulder community, learning Hebrew, and celebrating Jewish holidays. Two times each month, parents and children focus on g’milut hasadim (acts of loving kindness), tikkun olam (repairing the world), and tza’ar ba’alei chayim (unnecessary suffering to animals).
Our families have weeded and harvested vegetables at Ekar Farm Urban Gardens, shopped and filled birthday bags for Jewish Family Service Weinberg Pantry, built squirrel boxes for Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and baked Chanukah cookies for the residents at Kavod Senior Life.
Our first family school session is Sunday, September 20th, 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Boulder JCC, 3800 Kalmia. Please RSVP to bethamicolorado@gmail.com if your family would like to attend.
