Singing and Spirituality: High Holy Day Music Speaks to Our Souls with Cantorial Soloist Holli Berman
Wednesday, August 26th 7:00 – 8:30 pm
How do the Jewish songs of your youth make you feel today? What flashes of insight do you gain from hearing a new melody to a familiar prayer? In our time together, we will listen to various traditional and new High Holy Day melodies and discuss their emotional and spiritual power. Begin to prepare for the Days of Awe by joining me in this musical journey.
The Method: Maimonides’ Hilkhot Teshuvah with Rabbi Ruthie Gelfarb

Change is not easy! In this session, we will study excerpts from Maimonides’s classic Hilkhot Teshuvah (Laws of Repentance) and the recommended steps to take to support change. Then, we will engage in spiritual journaling and reflect on ourselves and our relationships. Bring your favorite journal.

Tishrei Tidbits – Yom Kippur

How do I know Judaism is still alive and well? More people go to synagogue for Kol NIdrei than any other time of the year- and there’s no food served for at least twenty four hours!

Join Us for a Meaningful Humanistic Yom Kippur Celebration!

Humanistic Judaism considers Yom Kippur to be the culmination of the self-analysis that was initiated on Rosh Hashanah. We are offered the opportunity to ask forgiveness from ourselves as well as from those we have wronged, and we vow to be active, involved, caring people in the coming year.
