Week in Review: January 17th, 2014

bjn-logo8-200x200-blue Shabbat shalom and happy birthday to the trees!  The community celebrated Tu B’Shevat Wednesday night with a very successful seder held at Congregation Nevei Kodesh.  There will be a kids’ party for Tu B’Shevat at Grandrabbits Toys on Monday, January 20th, MLK day.  As for Boulder MLK celebrations, you can find the schedule of events here.

As we write this, a group of Boulder Jews are in Cuba with Menorah, led by Menorah Director Kathryn Bernheimer.  We look forward to publishing a full report after they return next week.

One other event of note scheduled for next week is the final Boulder City Council vote on the new Boulder JCC building project.  While the Council’s agenda is subject to change, the meeting is Tuesday night, January 21 at 6:00 pm.

Have a good weekend and stay warm! Here are this week’s stories that ran in the BJN:

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
