Historical Hanukkah with Dr. Naomi Susan Schwartz Jacobs

chanukah8Back by popular demand! Historical Hanukkah Class with Dr. Naomi Susan Schwartz Jacobs.

The actual circumstances surrounding the Hanukkah story are far more complex than one might think. Why exactly did the persecution take place? Why were the Jews able to create an independent state? Why did the later Rabbis despise the Maccabees?

Class will include selections from 2 Maccabees. Class will take place 7:00 -9:00 pm on Monday, December 15th at Bonai Shalom. Suggested donation $10.
