The news that the three kidnapped Israeli teenagers were found dead has caused considerable sadness and pain for Jewish communities around the world who were praying for their safe return.
We pray for peace on the souls of Gilad Shaar, Naftali Frenkel, and Eyal Yifrach and great strength and comfort to the mourners; their families and loved ones, devastated by this tragic and senseless loss.
We join people of conscience around the world in outrage at this senseless killing and pray that this brutal act does not close our hearts to the possibility of peace. In their memory, we pray for an end to the unbearable violence and hatred.
In our recent prayers for the safe release of these three boys, we were in solidarity with Jews across the world and now we are all grieving the loss of Gilad, Naftali and Eyal, all mourners.
In the coming days, we will try to gather across the community in their memory.
May the families of Gilad Shaar, Naftali Frenkel, and Eyal Yifrach be comforted among the mourners of Zion.
Let their memories be for a blessing.
