DENVER – June 30- Donald Sturm, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Judaism Your Way (JYW) announced that Executive Director Lolly Gold will be leaving the organization in early September, 2014. Gold joined JYW in early 2008 and oversaw a dramatic increase in the Denver-based Jewish outreach organization’s programs and services.
Looking back over Lolly’s time with Judaism Your Way we can see her impact in so many ways,” said Sturm. “She helped us make enormous strides during that period and we are a much better and more effective organization thanks to her being here.”
Founded in 2004 by Donald and Susan Sturm, Judaism Your Way provides outreach services primarily to unaffiliated Jews and their loved ones in the Denver-Boulder area. The organization hosts High Holy Day Services at the Denver Botanic Gardens, offers teen programming including Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation, helps interfaith and same-faith couples and families with lifecycle events and counseling, and offers on-going adult education programs.
According to Rabbi Brian Field, JYW’s rabbinic leader, Gold has been instrumental as JYW doubled its staff, moved to larger offices, expanded to Boulder, built relationships locally and nationally with other like-minded and supportive organizations, enhanced the Board of Directors, and attracted new and steadily increasing financial support from throughout the Jewish community.
I have deeply benefited from working with Lolly, who is an active participant in Jewish spiritual and organizational life,” said Rabbi Field. “Working for JYW has been more than a job for Lolly. It’s been part of her personal Jewish journey.”
Gold announced her departure to the Board earlier this month, saying she had fulfilled the goals she had set when she arrived more than six years ago. In doing so she said “I feel very good about what our staff and Board has achieved while I have been with JYW. I leave with confidence that exciting things lie ahead both for JYW and for me.”
When Lolly joined this team it wasn’t obvious that we would grow to where we are today,” said Susan Sturm, Co-Founder of Judaism Your Way. “She took a leap of faith in joining JYW, and our Jewish community is stronger for it.”
Sturm also announced that the search for a new Executive Director has begun. For more information please visit www.judaismyourway.org.
