ADL Welcomes Attorney General’s Action to Allow Same-Sex Marriages in Colorado

14 ADL logoDENVER, CO, October 6, 2014….. The Anti-Defamation League welcomes Colorado Attorney General John Suther’s decision to expedite the process of allowing same-sex couples to marry in Colorado after the Supreme Court issued its ruling this morning allowing decisions in favor of marriage equality to remain untouched. Scott L. Levin, ADL Mountain States Regional Director, issued the following statement:

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) welcomes the statement of Colorado Attorney General John Suthers indicating he will take speedy action to lift barriers preventing same-sex couples in Colorado from marrying. Same-sex couples have waited far too long for the fundamental right to marry. We look forward to an announcement very soon that county clerks throughout Colorado will be permitted to begin issuing marriage licenses to all couples, regardless of sexual orientation.”

The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
