Shabbat Shalom! Once again, graduation week has come to Boulder, and the Boulder Jewish News would like to congratulate the Class of 2013 from our neighbors, the University of Colorado at Boulder. Welcome too, all the parents and relatives who have descended on our little village to celebrate with their graduates. By the time you leave, you will understand why your graduate most likely wants to stay right here after graduation…
On a different topic, community member Francine Lavin Weaver had a very nice posting on the MyJewishLearning site, “Counting the Omer, Counting My Blessings.” Check it out.
Note to those who work for, or support one of our Jewish non-profit organizations in town: The Nonprofit Cultivation Center held its third annual Technology Summit at the Boulder Marriott Thursday, and it was a great opportunity for local non-profits to get educated about many areas of today’s technology, including cloud computing, social marketing, and the latest on-line fundraising tools and strategies. This organization started as a partnership between the Boulder County Commissioners and Foothills United Way to strengthen local Boulder County nonprofits, and provides many resources, including professional development and training classes, peer support groups, consulting, and information about grants available to Boulder County nonprofits. Yasher Koach to Amy Rosenblum, Kristin Imo and Anne Smith for putting the event on, and all the presenter partners and sponsors for a great conference.
Meanwhile, here’s what’s happening in Jewish Boulder. Have a great weekend!
