Shabbat shalom! A fairly heavy week this week bookended by Yom HaShoah last Sunday night and Yom HaZikaron this Sunday night. Be sure to check out the videos from Yom HaShoah if you couldn’t make it — five Holocaust survivors living in the Boulder area shared their memories with the standing-room-only audience, which included children of all ages.
The Boulder JCC is holding the community Yom HaZikaron event at 7:00 pm Sunday night to honor Israel’s fallen soldiers, and also hosting a party for Israel’s 65th birthday on Monday, April 15th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut. That should lighten the mood for next week, anyway!
Speaking of next week, our CU Hillel correspondent, Chelsea Miller, let us know that:
Boulder Hillel and the CU Muslim Student Association are collaborating for a night of dinner and discussion. We are planning on coming together on Wednesday to build relationships, break down stereotypes, and create a stronger bond between the two communities. Only students can attend, and we’re excited to bring these two communities together… finally!”
BJN looks forward to getting a report of the evening we can share with our readers. Meanwhile, here are this week’s stories:
