When Boulder resident Kate Litwin began thinking about summer plans for her 5 year old son Oliver, she immediately thought of the Boulder JCC’s summer specialty camp program.  “We automatically look to the specialty camp program at the Boulder JCC for its variety both in theme and dates throughout the summer.”

Oliver, who participated in the SNAG Golf camp and the Growing Gardens camps last summer, enjoys being able to spend his days outdoors. This summer, he’ll be coming indoors for a few weeks, as he is signed up for two Lego camps as well as returning for the golf and gardening camps.  “For us, the week-long camps, really work with our schedule and allow our son to participate in multiple camps, doing different activities, throughout the summer.”  Bragging to her friends about what an awesome summer Oliver will have encouraged them to register their kids for Boulder JCC camps as well. Says Litwin: “They didn’t want to miss out on all the fun!”

Summer specialty camps at the Boulder JCC provide a wonderful opportunity for campers to spend a week or more focused on their chosen specialty in an enthusiastic yet intimate group.  Campers work to learn new skills and build confidence, all while having fun and engaging in their community.

In addition to returning partners Play-Well Teknologies, Growing Gardens, Girls Leadership Institute, School of Rock, Rocky Mountain Day Camp, and Boulder Snag Golf, The Boulder JCC is excited to form new partnerships with Mad Science, Sticky Fingers Cooking, Young Rembrandts, and Mizel Museum. New camps also include Camp Cursive and traditional afternoon day camp where campers will enjoy lunch and traditional summer camp activities.

The 2013 summer kicks off May 28 and runs through August 16 for kids ages 3-14.  Spots still remain in most camps and registration and availability can be found here.
