Nigel Savage, originally from Manchester, England, founded Hazon in 2000, and it has grown to the be the largest Jewish environmental organization in the country. Nigel was named a member of the Forward 50, the annual list of the 50 most influential Jewish people in the United States, together with Rahm Emanuel, Jon Stewart and others. He was an MA in history from Georgetown and learned at Pardes, Yakar and the Hebrew University.

Michelle Levine spent 8 years with the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel before coming to America as the outreach director for the American arm of the organization. She published SPNI News, the largest distribution English-language publication on Israel’s environment and wrote SPNI’s 60 Projects, a book referred to as Israel’s environmental bible.
