National Jewish Environmental Movement Leaders in Boulder

“God’s Green Earth: The Jewish Environmental Movement at Home and Abroad” is co-hosted by Congregation Har HaShem and Hazon. All are welcome to join us at Congregation Har HaShem (3950 Baseline Road, Boulder) on Wednesday, February 20, at 7:00 pm. All the details are available online.

Nigel and Michelle are passionate, significant and experienced leaders who will explore the environmental challenges facing us today and how we can be part of the solution.

Nigel Savage, originally from Manchester, England, founded Hazon in 2000, and it has grown to the be the largest Jewish environmental organization in the country. Nigel was named a member of the Forward 50, the annual list of the 50 most influential Jewish people in the United States, together with Rahm Emanuel, Jon Stewart and others. He was an MA in history from Georgetown and learned at Pardes, Yakar and the Hebrew University.

Michelle Levine

Michelle Levine spent 8 years with the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel before coming to America as the outreach director for the American arm of the organization. She published SPNI News, the largest distribution English-language publication on Israel’s environment and wrote SPNI’s 60 Projects, a book referred to as Israel’s environmental bible.
