Midrash before the Rabbis

nssjDr. Naomi Susan Schwartz Jacobs, an internationally recognized teacher and scholar of the Hebrew Bible and ancient Judaism, returns to Bonai Shalom to teach the Part Three of her highly engaging class about the dramatic and often unexpected stories in the Book of Jubilees.

Found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, Jubilees retells a large section of the Torah in surprising ways.  As explained by Naomi, Jubilees provides fresh insights into both the original Torah stories and the rabbinical reworkings of those stories known as Midrash.

This program will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 7-9 pm. At Congregation Bonai Shalom, 1527 Cherryvale Road, Boulder. Class is free but donations are gratefully accepted.  Hope to see you there!
