Learning Mishnah, In Honor of a Dear Friend

froma

Please join Congregation Bonai Shalom, 1527 Cherryvale Rd., Boulder, in honoring the memory of our late Education Director Froma Fallik z”l through a communal Mishnah learning on the auspicious day of Rosh Chodesh Elul, next Wednesday August 7, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Select Mishnayot from seder Moed (the section that discusses Shabbat and the Jewish holidays) will be studied Havruta style in Hebrew or translation.

The letters of the word Mishnah are the same as those of the word Neshamah, and the study of Mishnah is considered to be of great benefit to the departed soul — and of course to the person studying. In addition, Froma herself loved learning Mishnayot, so it is a special merit to learn this in her memory.

Boulder rabbis and teachers will be available to facilitate this study as well as to usher in the month of Elul with the blowing of the shofar. May Froma’s merit and memory be with us as we prepare to receive the blessings of the New Year with Torah study, prayer, and acts of kindness.
