Please join us Thursday evening, October 24th, 2013, from 7:00 pm -8:30 pm to learn about the exciting work of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. Based in southern Israel, the Arava Institute’s mission is to create a world-class environmental teaching and research institute that prepares young leaders to cooperatively solve the region’s environmental challenges.
The night will showcase Arava Institute Alumnus, Leila Hashweh. Leila will share her experiences at the Institute and discuss her graduate work on Hydrology and Water Quality in the Middle East. In addition, the Arava Institute Executive Director, David Lehrer, will speak about the Institute’s innovative academic and research programs focusing on renewable energy technologies, sustainable agriculture, and trans-boundary water management.

Where: Our program will be hosted by Boulder’s Israeli-Palestinian Project Group, at the Boulder JCC, 3800 Kalmia Ave Boulder, CO 80301. There will be a dessert reception.

About our programs:
The Arava Institute Study Abroad Program is an accredited university-level program for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in environmental or related fields. Over the course of one or two semesters, students engage in an interdisciplinary program comprised of courses in diverse environmental fields, a peace-building and environmental leadership seminar, and educational field trips.
The Arava Institute Internship Program allows interns to contribute substantively to trans-boundary environmental research while gaining valuable experience in the academic or professional field of their choice.
