Goats Need Your Help Post-Noah

goatsflood Dear Jewish Community,

Hoping that you will come out to help us upgrade our home for the winter this Sunday, October 20th, from 10 – 3.  We got kind of flooded out, and we need you to come help the co-op members save us.

We need help changing the slope of the paddock so the rain and melting snow  doesn’t enter the barn and it leaves us some room to dart out for those yummy vegie scraps that Boulder’s Vitamin Cottage supplies us with.   We also need some help with the barn floor which gets pretty bad at times — we specialize in messing it up immediately after the co-op rakes out the old bedding — so we’ve need the new one installed.   And the milking room also needs a new floor and a new milking stand too — the one we had was great for awhile, but these don’t last forever.   We may also need some more drainage too — in the barn and also outside – just to keep all that wet stuff away from us.   It’s not easy doing 180’s on those narrow boards without falling into the mud.

These are big jobs, but someone has to do it, and we’re hoping that means you. Everyone 12 and up is invited — even if you can only come for a few hours.  You can bring your tools and your shovels, old shoes & work gloves if you have them — the co-op will supply the rest.

In exchange, we’re going to teach you how to milk us (it’s really quite cool), and we got the co-op to agree to provide a bagel brunch for you all – including some goat cheese that yours truly supplied the milk for.  (Of course, we’re hoping you share some with us!)  On top of all that, we’ll be delighted to give you a lot of love and attention; we specialize in that.  And it will be a lot of fun – we promise!

So to make sure that the co-op orders enough bagels to have leftovers for us, Please RSVP (12 and up)  by Texting your first name, email address, & number of volunteers to:  303-900-0893 or Emailing us your first name, cell number, & number of volunteers to:  bait-izim@googlegroups.com

See you there on Sunday!  And thanks!

With love from,

Thistle, Clover, Alfalfa, Black Diamond, Taurus, and Baby Shira

PS  The co-op currently has a couple of open half shifts (that’s every other week) in case you’re thinking of joining.
