The Boulder JCC is thrilled to announce that Irene Skupsky has joined the staff of the Boulder JCC. She will serve as the front desk receptionist and program assistant. Michael Rosenzweig will continue in his role as the Community Concierge, and will now direct the J-Teen program in addition to Flatiron Tribe.
Irene is a 2012 graduate of the University of Colorado of Boulder with a double major in International Affairs and Jewish Studies, with a minor in Religious Studies. During the time she spent at CU, Irene became involved in all facets of Jewish life on campus: Hillel, Chabad at CU, Students for Israel, the Jewish Students Program, Sigma Rho Lambda, and the Kosher cafeteria at the Center 4 Community. While in school, Irene had volunteered for the Boulder JCC at Reflections through Sigma Rho Lamda, and with CU Hillel’s and Jewish Family Services program L’Dor V’Dor. She also met many community members while attending services at Aish Kodesh.
After graduation, Irene spent a year in Israel participating in a work/study language immersion program on Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu, and learning Jewish text and thought at Nishmat. Irene shares:
Upon hearing about the job opening, I knew that this opportunity was the perfect culmination of my past experiences and skills. I align myself closely with mission of the Boulder JCC, to strive to create a place where Jews of all backgrounds can come together in a comfortable environment to be inspired, learn, and grow. After being away for a year, I am excited to be back in beautiful Boulder and to be a part of such an amazing organization. I look forward to getting to know many community members this upcoming year.”
Jonathan Lev, Executive Director of the Boulder JCC, is incredibly excited to have Irene welcome community members to the Boulder JCC.
The Boulder JCC is open to all and Irene brings a deep understanding of our community to this position. She is incredibly bright, warm, and friendly, and will be a great resource for everyone who connects with the Boulder JCC.”
Irene started work at the Boulder JCC on September 10th. We hope you will join the board and staff of the JCC in welcoming Irene back to our community.
