Last Thursday, Flatiron Tribe held a Purim Party in honor of Queen Esther’s Bat Mitzvah with an 80’s twist at Twirl in downtown Boulder. We all dressed in our 80’s best (or worst depending on how you look at it), paid homage to our beautiful Queen, who performed her Haftarah portion beautifully, ate, danced, and played some classic Bat Mitzvah games.
Highlights of the night included a heated “Lower Than Haman Limbo” contest where Boulder JCC Executive Director, Jonathan Lev showed that he still knows how low you can go. The Shushan Frozen T-Shirt and Mordechai Mummy Wrap also proved to be crowd favorites as everyone was joining in on the fun and cheering for their favorite characters. An unexpected reunion of some URJ Camp Eisner campers and staff served as a pleasant surprise.
Everyone in attendance had a great time and left the night yearning for more Purim festivities. If you are looking for some more Flatiron Tribe fun, you can look forward to our next happy hour on March 21st for Stouts and Salsa night.
