Shabbat shalom! Today’s breaking news on the 65th anniversary of the UN vote to partition Mandatory Palestine into a Jewish state and an Arab state: a UN vote to upgrade Palestine to “nonmember observer state,” whatever that really means. One thing it doesn’t mean would be an instant solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, or even an end to the Hamas-Fatah-PA struggle over who really controls “Palestine” or what its exact borders are. Israel and the US, among other states, continued to point out that final status issues must be settled at the negotiating table, not unilaterally at the UN.
Locally, the Boulder Jewish community seems in full preparation mode for Chanukah and the general community holiday spirit. Make sure to check the BJN Chanukah Page and the Boulder Jewish Community Calendar to find out about all the local events and activities.
