Shabbat shalom and chanukah sameach!
One of the highlights of this week was the program held Sunday night at the Boulder JCC, featuring Professors Shaul Gabbay and Amir Kazak. A mostly-Jewish crowd of over 150 experienced a respectful dialogue between an Israeli and a Palestinian refugee. Congratulations to Menorah and the BJCC for an outstanding evening.
Also this week, on Colorado Gives Day, approximately $15 million was raised for Colorado nonprofits, including many in the Jewish community. The number of donations was up about 30%, while dollars donated were up about 20% over last year. Thank you to the organizations who participated and promoted this and of course to all the donors who used this opportunity to support the important work of the nonprofits in our community.
Hard to believe that it’s here, but the first night of Chanukah is tomorrow, Saturday December 8th. Light one candle placed in the first position on the right as you look at your Chanukiah, after Shabbat and Havdalah. Check out the BJN’s Chanukah page and Boulder Jewish Community Foundation Community Calendar to see all the special Chanukah Chappenings.
