Shabbat Shalom and Chanukah Sameach! Menorah lightings were all the rage in Boulder this week, starting with the CU Menorah on Monday night, the Pearl St. Menorah Tuesday night, Ignite Chanukah on Wednesday night and the Louisville lighting with Chanukah on Ice Thursday afternoon. Thanks to Lamplighters Michael Leeds, Allen Hittelman, Wendy Aronson and Ed Victor respectively for doing the community honors. We’ve been so busy with candles and latkes and cameras this week that we’ll publish pictures of the Wednesday and Thursday events after Shabbat. We may even have some special coverage of some additional 12-12-12 shenanigans, including something called a Hot Flash Mob….
Kudos to all area Chabad houses for all the great public menorah lighting activities; to the Boulder JCC for helping out at several of them; to the volunteer Ignite Chanukah committee, who put on a fabulous Ignite along with the annual Boulder Vodka Latke Young Professionals party; and to all the volunteers who worked with Boulder Jewish Family Service to bring Chanukah to the various senior facilities around town.. The holidays just get keep getting more festive each year!
Finally, congratulations to Pam and Sylvain Hayoun, whose singer daughter, Jessica Gabrielle, had a release concert for her new EP at the Laughing Goat Thursday night — a rousing success!
